About Callie Gaines
Approaching my fifth year at the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP (Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning) program, I have maintained my position on the Dean's List while also searching for opportunities to create my personal work and academic work. My main mediums are photography and videography, focusing on portraiture, events, and marketing. During the summer months, I run a photography business and do portraiture, senior photos, weddings, work events and marketing for businesses. I have gained experiences in all realms of technology and human communications. I love getting to know new people through work and networking. I am a lifelong student, always learning and willing to gain new experiences and connections.
My creative work includes photography and videography. I consider the impact parents make on their children because of their choices in their careers, traditions they carry, and how they were raised by their parents, I believe it is important to showcase the result. These photographs are representational and documentative of the life my parents live, communicating a way of life as they know it, and how they choose to raise their children. I also use self-portraiture to tie myself back into the narrative. My goal is to explore how easily it is to be influenced by our parents, and how the way they were raised affects the way they raise their children.
